TRI 35th Anniversary Webinar Series

EPA hosted a series of webinars to mark the 35th anniversary of the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program on October 17, 2021.

Past Webinars

Introduction to the Toxics Release Inventory Program: Overview of the TRI Program,  including what data are collected and how the data can be used, followed by a demo of the TRI Search tool and a question-and-answer session with TRI Program staff. 

 

2019 TRI National Analysis: Highlights and Walkthrough: Highlights from the 2019 TRI data, a demonstration of the interactive features of the National Analysis website, and a question-and-answer session with TRI Program staff. 

 

TRI for Communities: Using TRI Tools to Find Community-Based Data: Brief overview of the TRI Program, followed by a detailed demonstration of how to use the TRI Search and TRI Search Plus tools to find TRI facilities in and near communities. Concludes with a question-and-answer session with TRI Program staff. 

 

Introduction to the Risk-Screening Environmental Indicators (RSEI) Model: Discussion of what the RSEI model is, how it can be used to provide context for TRI data, and how to access and interpret RSEI results.  

 

Accessing and Using the TRI Pollution Prevention (P2) Data: Learn how to access and use the TRI data about how industrial facilities are reducing or eliminating the creation of chemical waste. Includes a demo of several online TRI tools.

 

Toxics in the Community: TRI for Local and Tribal Governments: Learn how local and tribal governments can access and use TRI data to help respond to community concerns and protect community health.

 

Data in Action: Real-World Applications of the TRI: Three researchers discuss how they have used TRI data in their work in the fields of public health equity and corporate environmental performance. Featuring Dr. Michael Ash, Dr. Michael Petroni, and Dr. Kevin Smiley.
