Stakeholder Process for Natural Gas and Petroleum Systems in the 1990-2016 Inventory

It is EPA's standard process to update the Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (GHG Inventory) when relevant new and improved data are available.

EPA held stakeholder webinars and meetings on updates under consideration for the 1990-2016 GHG Inventory (published in 2018). Information for each webinar and meeting is posted here.

March 1, 2018 Webinar

On March 1, 2018, EPA held a stakeholder webinar on the public review draft of the 1990-2016 GHG Inventory.

October 27, 2017 Workshop

On October 27, EPA held a stakeholder workshop on greenhouse gas (GHG) data on petroleum and natural gas systems from the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) and U.S. Greenhouse Gas Inventory of Emissions and Sinks (GHG Inventory). The stakeholder workshop was held in Houston, TX, following the Natural Gas STAR Annual Implementation Workshop, and via webinar.

At the workshop, EPA presented information on the GHGRP data, and on existing GHG Inventory methods and planned improvements under consideration based on previous stakeholder comments and data from the GHGRP and external studies.

In addition, stakeholders presented new data and information relevant to estimating GHG emissions from petroleum and natural gas systems.
