City and County of San Francisco NPDES Compliance Information

EPA sent a Notice of Violation to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) on October 2, 2019, identifying violations of the City and County of San Francisco’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits regulating discharges from the city’s wastewater treatment plants, 36 combined sewer discharge facilities and its combined sewer system.  On November 21, 2019, EPA sent SFPUC a letter in response to both its September 9 letter to EPA regarding the reissuance of the Oceanside NPDES permit and its October 1 letter to EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler.
