Sang Don Lee, Ph.D.

Acting Principal Associate National Program Director
EPA's Homeland Security Research Program (HSRP)
Research Physical Scientist
EPA's Center for Environmental Solutions and Emergency Response (CESER)

Current Research

My expertise includes material engineering, aerosol science, and environmental science, and much of his research at the EPA has focused on the remediation of Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) agents in the environment. My research supports EPA’s HSRP by evaluating and developing methods for remediation and sampling and by improving the understanding of CBR agent behavior in the environment.

Why This Science Matters

EPA's HSRP addresses many challenging questions in preparedness, response, and remediation from CBR incidents. The major role of the HSRP is to improve the EPA’s response to CBR incidents by conducting applied research. Research within HSRP is created and designed to decrease information gaps and to improve our capabilities when responding to a CBR incident.
