Becoming a Green Power Partner is easy (and free)!

Join other leading U.S. organizations that are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and expanding America's renewable energy markets.

Organizations must complete and return to EPA a Partner Reporting Form to join the Green Power Partnership. If you are interested in applying as a community, please visit the “Apply as a Community” webpage.

The Partner Reporting Form includes several sections:

  • General terms and conditions that Partners and EPA commit to.
  • Summary of the requirements that a Partner must maintain during Partnership.
  • Information on the Partner organization’s:
    • Authorizing official [including signature] and points of contact.
    • Total annual electricity use.
    • Annual green power use.
    • Motivations for using green power.

Applicants are encouraged to review the Partnership Requirements (pdf) before applying for Partnership with EPA. By reviewing the Partnership Requirements documentation, Applicants can ensure that the information they provide to EPA meets all the necessary requirements to join the program.

After receipt of the Partner Reporting Form, EPA will assign new Partners to an Account Manager. New Partners are typically listed on EPA's website within two weeks of submitting their Partner Reporting Form.

Annual Reporting Requirement

After joining, EPA will collect updated green power use information from Partners annually by sending them a Partner Reporting Form pre-populated with the information they had previously submitted.
