2017 Federal Green Challenge Award Winners in the Southeast Region

Recognition was an important part of the Federal Green Challenge. Awards were given at the regional level in the category of Electronics.

In the Southeast region, the 2017 award winner was the Department of Energy Y-12 National Security Complex. Below is the description of what the awardee achieved and ways they achieved reductions.

The Department of Energy, Y-12 National Security Complex sent 67.24 tons of agency-owned electronics to a third-party certified recycler. This represents a 460 percent increase in electronics recycling from the previous year. In addition, over one ton of agency-owned electronics were also reused in 2016.
