Toward Greener Supply Chain:  How The Home Depot reduces its environmental footprint and costs

Wednesday, February 12, 2020
11:00 AM (PT)/ 1:00 PM (CT)/ 2:00 PM (ET)

As one of the nation’s largest importers, the Home Depot teamed up with the International Council on Clean Transportation to conduct a study of its supply chain to better understand the impacts of freight efficiency strategies.  The study helped illustrate the elements of a real-world “green supply chain” and how it compares with a traditional supply chain.  Findings include insights about how even a high(er) efficiency supply chain can continue to enhance efficiency and environmental performance with even more advanced strategies that are available now or on the horizon.  This webinar is brought to you by Loyola University Chicago and US EPA SmartWay.

Freight Matters – Creating Sustainability at Airports

Wednesday, June 5, 2019, 11:00 AM (PT)/ 1:00 PM (CT)/ 2:00 PM (ET)

Air freight is the fastest growing mode in goods movement.  Worldwide, aviation accounts for about two percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, with emissions expected to grow at about three to four percent per year.  Under the leadership of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the air carrier industry has adopted measures intended reduce aircraft emissions to 2005 levels by 2050.  Airports have also stepped up, some working through the Airport Council International’s (ACI) Carbon Accreditation Program, to reduce emissions through such measures as decarbonizing ground transportation and buildings and reducing emissions from ground operations.  Join us as we hear from sustainability managers at four major airports on their challenges and achievements in greening operations at their respective airports.

This Webinar is for: Those individuals, companies, logistics providers, multimodal carriers, airport managers and local governments interested in advancing freight sustainability at airports.
