Meet North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE)

NACFE Logo

NACFE has been a SmartWay Affiliate since 2017.  The organization works to drive the development and adoption of efficiency enhancing, environmentally beneficial, and cost-effective technologies, services and methodologies in the North American freight industry. NACFE prides itself on being an unbiased, comprehensive group that helps the trucking industry navigate the large number of energy efficiency technologies and practices available in the market. NACFE communicates the benefits, challenges and the payback of such actions summarizing the confidence fleets should have in adoption.

SmartWay is pleased to collaborate with NACFE on many efforts to educate fleets on ways to improve North American goods movements.  One such effort is NACFE’s Run on Less initiative, a best-of-the-best, cross-country roadshow that showcases advancements in freight efficiency. The goal of the Run is to highlight the best possible current use of the efficiency technologies, operational practices, and driver capabilities to show what the most innovative fleets can accomplish in the real world in terms of fuel economy and freight efficiency. EPA SmartWay worked with NACFE to publicize the Run on Less roadshow with our high performing carrier partners and shippers seeking to improve the efficiency, cost and the environmental performance of their freight operations. As a result, several of our carrier partners participated in the roadshow and their fuel-efficient strategies are highlighted in NACFE’s Run on Less report.
