Applications Selected for FY 2025 Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Cleanup Grants, and RLF Supplemental Funding
Today, EPA is announcing that 207 communities were selected to receive 214 grant awards for a total of over $224 million in funding for Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup (ARC) Grant programs. These Brownfields Grants will be used to assess, clean up and redevelop underutilized properties while protecting public health and the environment.
EPA is also announcing $42 million in supplemental funding to 34 existing Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grant recipients who have demonstrated success in their work to clean up and redevelop brownfield sites. Supplemental funding for RLF Grants is available to recipients that have depleted their funds and have viable cleanup projects ready for work. RLF supplemental funding helps sustain and increase the great progress these communities have made in cleaning up brownfield sites, while also helping them become stronger, healthier, and more economically competitive.
These investments, totaling nearly $267 million, support EPA's Pillar 1: Clean Air, Land, and Water for Every American and Pillar 3: Permitting Reform, Cooperative Federalism, and Cross-Agency Partnership. The awarded grants will directly support states, Tribal Nations, local governments, and communities across the country in their efforts to assess and clean up sites to mitigate potential health risks and promote economic revitalization.
EPA has selected these organizations to receive funding to address and support the reuse of brownfield sites. EPA anticipates making the awards once all legal and administrative requirements are satisfied.
