Applicants Selected for Fiscal Year 2026 Brownfields Job Training Grants
EPA is selecting 25 communities to receive approximately $12 million in Brownfields Job Training Grants to recruit and train unemployed and underemployed individuals with the skills needed to secure long-term employment in the environmental field. Each recipient will receive funds to develop and offer environmental job training curriculums that provide opportunities for residents living in areas impacted by contaminated lands, advancing clean air, land and water for every American.
This initiative is part of the EPA’s “Powering the Great American Comeback” plan, which includes Pillar 1: Clean Air, Land, and Water for Every American and Pillar 3: Permitting Reform, Cooperative Federalism and Cross-Agency Partnership. By awarding grants for the Brownfields Job Training, the EPA aims to enhance collaboration, streamline processes to benefit both the environment and the economy, empower communities and drive impactful change towards a cleaner and more prosperous future.
EPA anticipates making the awards once all legal and administrative requirements are satisfied.
